Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of India and Secretary responsible for the Western Division Sibi George, heading a delegation, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial on November 7, accompanied by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha.
The guests were welcomed by Edita Gzoyan, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, who guided them to the memorial and presented the history of its creation.
Mr. Sibi George laid a wreath at the monument commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Afterwards, the guests placed flowers near the Eternal Flame and honored the memory of the innocent martyrs of the Armenian Genocide with a minute of silence.
The members of the delegation from India then toured the Armenian Genocide Museum, where they were accompanied by the museum’s guide, Meri Yeghikyan, and familiarized themselves with the permanent and temporary exhibitions.
Following the tour, Mr. Sibi George made an entry in the Museum’s Guest Book of Honor.
Expressing her gratitude for the visit, the Director of the Museum-Institute, Edita Gzoyan, presented the distinguished guest with books about the Armenian Genocide.
