From July 8 to 11, the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI) hosted students from George School (Pennsylvania, USA) as part of a summer school program. The program was implemented in cooperation with "The Genocide Education Project" and aimed to familiarize participants with various aspects of the history of the Armenian Genocide. It is worth noting that this is the first time school students from the USA have visited AGMI within the framework of an educational program on the Armenian Genocide.

The initiator of the summer school, Meredith Baldi, a teacher at George School, was a participant in the 2024 annual educational program for the training of American teachers on the Armenian Genocide, jointly conducted by AGMI and "The Genocide Education Project." This year, she arrived in Armenia with her students.

Within the scope of the summer school, participants visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial and Museum. Over the course of four days, accompanied by AGMI researchers, students participated in tours and thematic courses. Various aspects of the Armenian Genocide were discussed, including the role of media and propaganda during mass violence and the significance of survivor testimonies. A special session was also dedicated to the life of Aurora Mardiganian and the film "Auction of Souls."

Practical sessions within the program were conducted by George School teachers Meredith Baldi and Prescott Seraydarian.

In addition to the educational program at AGMI, the students visited the Matenadaran and several historical and cultural sites in Armenia, gaining a closer look at the country's culture and rich historical heritage.

Such initiatives play a crucial role in developing international educational cooperation, raising awareness about the crime of genocide, preserving memory, and increasing awareness of human rights protection among the younger generation.
