The Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI) continuously strengthens and expands its position, becoming a key international scientific center for genocide studies. Our researchers actively publish their articles in authoritative scientific journals, contributing to the creation of new knowledge, international academic dialogue, and the development of modern research directions.
We are pleased to announce that a new study by AGMI Senior Researcher, Doctor of Historical Sciences Gevorg Vardanyan has been published in the high-ranking international scientific journal Memory Studies (Q1: Web of Science and Scopus) (
https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/17506980251388350.
In the article, the author presents the Armenian Genocide as a continuous process, the impact of which does not end with mass killings. By analyzing three forms of Armenian community activity established in the US—mourning ceremonies, fundraising, and publications—he demonstrates that in the immediate post-genocide period, these memory practices aimed not only to commemorate the martyrs but also to resist the broader and deeper objectives of genocidal policy.
This research constitutes a significant contribution to the study of the interplay between genocide memory and resistance.
