From July 12 to 18, the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute (AGMI) is hosting the annual educational training program on the Armenian Genocide for American teachers. This program, held for the fifth time since 2022, is organized by the American organization "The Genocide Education Project" (GenEd) in cooperation with the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute.
Within the framework of the program, AGMI researchers deliver lectures, organize tours, and lead discussions for the American teachers, aimed at deepening participants' knowledge and understanding of the history and consequences of the Armenian Genocide.
The educational program addresses topics such as the formation of a genocidal environment in the Ottoman Empire, genocide denial and its modern manifestations, the importance of historical memory, as well as the preservation of Armenian culture and identity.
A vital component of the program is the exchange of experience among participants. American teachers discuss methods for teaching the Armenian Genocide, possibilities for developing educational projects, and modern pedagogical approaches to presenting historical events.
Conducted for the fifth consecutive year, this program contributes to strengthening cooperation between AGMI and foreign educational institutions, as well as the mission of making the Armenian Genocide a part of global history and memory.
