On September 25–26 of this year, Regina Galustyan, Senior Researcher of the Vahakn Dadrian Department of Comparative Genocide Studies at the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, participated in the international conference “Learning from Which Catastrophes? On the Connection Between Genocide and Holocaust Education” held at the University of Marburg, Germany.
In her presentation titled “Empowering through Teaching: Insights into Armenian Genocide Education”, she discussed the current state of genocide education in public schools of the Republic of Armenia, the relevant teaching standards, the educational activities of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, and contemporary challenges in genocide instruction.
The conference brought together representatives from the Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Centre, the University of São Paulo, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and the universities of Vienna, Graz, Rostock, Marburg, as well as other research institutions.
