THE HEAD OF AGMI EDUCATIONAL DEPARTMENT PARTICIPATED IN A CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO TUMANYAN’S 150TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY



On May 11, YSU Ijevan branch hosted a republican conference dedicated to Hovhannes Tumanyan's 150th anniversary, organized by the Department of the Armenian Language and Literature, Faculty of Humanities of YSU Ijevan branch.

Christine Najaryan, the head of the Department of Educational Programs of the “Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute” Foundation participated in the conference.

Ms Najaryan has presented a report under the title “Orphan care activities of Hovannes Tumanyan during the Armenian Genocide."

The conference was participated by professors, YSU doctors, researchers from NAS RA Abeghyan Literature Institute, “Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute” Foundation, RA NAS Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, NAS RA Shirak Center for Armenian Studies, as well as Vanadzor State University.

The opening speech was made by Vachakan Avagyan, the head of the Department of the Armenian Language and Literature of YSU Ijevan branch, afterwards Bishop Bagrat Galstyan, the Primate of the Tavoush Diocese, greeted the audience with prayer and welcomed the guests from Great Britain.
