Within the framework of his official visit to Armenia on an invitation by Ararat Mirzoyan, RA National Assembly Speaker, Andreas Norlén, the Speaker of the Swedish Riksdag has visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex. The delegation headed by Andreas Norlén was accompanied with Lena Nazaryan, RA NA vice Speaker Vice Speaker. AGMI Director Harutyun Marutyan presented to the high ranking officials the history of the monument construction and its symbol.

The Speaker of the Swedish Riksdag laid a wreath at the Genocide Monument, after which members of accompanying delegation put flowers at the eternal fire and honored the memory of the innocent martyrs with a minute of silence.

The Swedish delegation also visited the Genocide Museum where Lusine Abrahamyan, AGMI deputy director, presented details about the Genocide History.

AGMI Director gifted to Andreas Norlén volumes of articles on the Armenian Genocide published in the American press. At the end of the visit Speaker of the Riksdag left a note in the Memory Book of honorable guests: “Thank you for helping us not to forget something that should never be forgotten.”
